At NumroVani we spoke to 10,000 participants in the age group of 18-35 in India to explore the role of astrology in shaping their life decisions – ranging from everyday choices to significant turning points.
The findings reveal a fascinating trend: a growing dependence on astrology, surprisingly among the younger generation, as a source of clarity, connection, and guidance in uncertain times.

When faced with life’s crossroads like dating dilemmas, career indecisions, or navigating personal challenges, many young people today are skipping traditional sources like professional guidance or family advice. Instead, they’re looking up – toward the stars.
As per the research, 75% of young Indians seek astrological advice to navigate their romantic relationships, and 42% look to celestial support for financial advice. An impressive 88% of young Indians check their horoscope at least once a week, and 51% consult the stars daily to see what the future holds.
Finding Control in Chaos: A Guiding Light in Times of Emotional Turmoil
In challenging periods of financial and emotional turmoil, people often seek mechanisms to regain control and make sense of their circumstances. Astrology offers just that – providing a framework for interpreting life events, making decisions, and finding comfort in the chaos.
48% of millennials and 68% of Gen Z have consulted astrology for life guidance, with the majority citing comfort during challenging moments.
In fact, 60% accepted they use Astrology and its associated holistic practices as a replacement for therapy and 58% of young adults stated that they use astrology to help them cope with anxiety or stress, which suggests that astrology is fulfilling an emotional need for reassurance and control.

51% of traders admit to using astrology as a supplement to traditional market analysis, incorporating astrological insights into their investment strategies. 42% of investors have consulted astrology at some point to guide their financial decisions, particularly during periods of market volatility.
The trend remains similar to people who leverage astrological guidance in their angel investing journey as well.
Astrology Matchmaker: The New HR at the Workplace
Astrology’s place in the workplace has evolved. It is no longer limited to a way of finding whether your partner is compatible with you or not, but also if your seniors and colleagues are compatible with you. About 41% of working professionals check their manager’s and colleagues’ zodiac signs before signing a contract and devoting their loyalty to the team.
For many, astrology is more than a fun personality test. About 54% use it as a tool to uncover their strengths and address potential challenges. 70% of the participants view astrology as a guiding force in their overall professional journey. Interestingly, 49% even credit astrology with helping them discover their true career path.
Jupiter’s Workplace Impact: When Growth Takes a Stepback
If you believed astrology’s impact was limited to reading zodiac signs for Gen Z and Millennials, you might be mistaken. They actively keep tabs on planetary retrogrades, and what it means for their work life. Currently, Jupiter is in retrograde, and its influence transforms from driving expansion to encouraging introspection. Instead of chasing new opportunities, employees find themselves revisiting old projects and reflecting on long-term goals.
During this period, 37% of professionals focus on refining their strategies, while 52% invest in skill development to prepare for future success. However, 41% admit feeling stuck or demotivated, struggling with the slower pace. On the bright side, 29% use this time to improve workplace relationships, and 46% see it as an opportunity to learn from past mistakes.

Irrespective of their beliefs, over 59% of participants in online dating apps admit to filtering matches based on zodiac signs, while 90% of people report checking their potential partner’s zodiac before the first date.
Astrology provides insights into personality traits, interests, compatibility, and even sexual drive. As a result, love birds consider it a no-brainer to check compatibility with a quick search, “Which zodiac signs are compatible with me?”
Despite zodiac incompatibility, it can be hard to resist saying “yes” to a first date if your online match is particularly charming. However, 55% agree they wouldn’t pursue a relationship with someone whose zodiac sign conflicts with their own.
What about those who ignore the stars’ advice? 41% of young people admit they have been rejected later in the relationship due to zodiac mismatches, with planetary positions creating tension in incompatible connections. On the brighter side, 63% of people believe astrology can help improve communication in a relationship.
The Hidden Risks of Relying on Astrology
In India, people deeply embed astrology in their culture, consulting the stars before major life decisions. However, 41% of young Indians admit they have made relationship decisions based solely on their zodiac signs, only to regret it later.
For some, this reliance extends to career choices and investments, with 29% of professionals checking astrological predictions before making big moves, like changing jobs or making financial decisions.
While astrology provides comfort for many, 33% of millennials feel stressed when they can’t align their actions with their astrological forecast, often questioning their choices if they diverge from the stars’ guidance.
For 36%, astrology leads to presumption and unnecessary worry. By closely following daily horoscopes, many end up making speculations about their day or relationships, inviting unnecessary problems and stress that might not have otherwise occurred. Ultimately, while astrology can offer valuable insights, relying too heavily on it, especially without expert guidance can lead to misguided decisions and unnecessary anxiety.
A Mental Health Anchor: The Positive Impact of Astrology
The predictive nature of Astrology offers you proactive measures – to take your health, relationships, and career in one’s control before it’s too late.
The predictions and horoscopes might fail to be 100% true every time, especially when relying on inexperienced and unverified sources, but they prepare the individual with enthusiasm and hope for a better future. 75% of young participants agree that Astrology helps alleviate stress and helps them tackle their challenges more appropriately.
Understanding their strengths through mystic science gives 39% of young adults a sense of empowerment, helping them approach obstacles with a positive mindset. It fosters a sense of connection to something greater, giving many a sense of purpose and mental peace in their daily lives.
What Does Outlook for 2025 look like?
In the same study, the respondents mentioned that they would leverage the insights of astrology and occult sciences in taking their decision in 2025 as well. The belief of Gen Z on using astrology for strategic life lessons is seeing an exponential surge.
