In 2024, NumroVani published a groundbreaking report called “How Gen Z Used Astrology in 2024 and What Lies Ahead in 2025.” This report showed that astrology was no longer just a cultural tradition; it was becoming a digital-first, personalized tool for making decisions, building identity, and gaining emotional insight. Gen Z was the main group behind this movement, seeing astrology as more than simply a belief but as a way of life.
NumroVani is still keeping an eye on these changes in behavior, not just among Gen Z but also among people of all ages who are good with technology. A survey of 5,000 users from all around India shows interesting trends about the growth of AI astrologers and how they are changing the spiritual landscape through privacy, customisation, and repeat engagement.
To understand how AI astrology is evolving beyond prediction, this explainer offers useful context.
Q1 2025: Early Curiosity Translates Into Daily Use
In the first quarter of 2025, AI Astrology use grew a lot from the interest that was first registered in 2024. In the first quarter of 2021, 34% of astrology users talked to an AI astrologer, and many of them were doing it for the first time. What drew them in was simple: they could get help anytime, anywhere, and they could ask intimate questions without being judged. These technologies made it easier for people who were new to astrology, especially those who were already using digital tools, to get started without having to go through the formality of a traditional consultation.
Q2 2025: More Users, More Trust, and More Spend
By the second quarter, that initial interest had become a habit. The number of people that used AI astrologers went up by 8 points to 42%. What used to be an experiment has turned into a habit, especially as AI platforms got better at making predictions, adapting to different regions, and having emotionally sophisticated interfaces.
This rising trust was also seen in how much users spent. The average amount spent per user in the first quarter was ₹410. That went up by 18% in Q2 to ₹485, not because prices were up but because people were more willing to pay for more in-depth services like compatibility analysis, future forecasts, and long-term karmic assessments.
Repeat Use Confirms Emotional Reliance
Another strong sign of adoption was that people used it again and again. 27% of users came back to AI astrologers more than once in the first quarter. By the second quarter, that number had risen to 42%, which suggests that emotional dependence was developing. Astrology used to be based on events or rituals, but now it is utilized as a compass every week or even every day. It’s not enough to merely know what’s coming up next month; you also have to deal with how you feel today.
Gen Z & Late Millennials: The Everyday Astrology Audience
Gen Z and late Millennials continue to drive the shift toward digital-first astrology, using it for self-understanding and decision-making rather than fortune-telling. They turn to AI astrologers to ask deeper questions like “Why am I feeling this way?” or “Should I wait before acting?” Seamlessly integrated into their digital lives, AI astrology now helps them check compatibility or get mood-based predictions before plans, becoming a practical tool for daily navigation.
Human + AI: A Hybrid Future Emerges
Even if AI is getting more popular, traditional astrologers are still quite important, especially for spiritual guidance. In the first quarter, 61% of consumers indicated they employ both AI and human astrologers, depending on the scenario. That went up a little to 64% in Q2, which supports a hybrid model: people use AI for immediate answers and emotional support, while people use humans for long-term rituals, treatments, and life-changing advice.
Gender Patterns: Women Are Leading Digital Adoption
In our 2024 study, we found that women, especially younger women who lived in cities, were more likely to utilize astrology apps and material on a regular basis. That trend has gotten stronger in 2025. Women made up 48% of AI Astrology users in the first quarter. By the second quarter, it had grown to 55%, thanks to the emotional safety, lack of judgment, and anonymity that AI astrologers provide. Women said it was easy to talk about delicate topics including relationships, fertility, and mental health without worrying about being misunderstood or shamed.
Perception Insights: Measured Using a 5-Point Likert Scale
We used a 5-point Likert scale to grade a collection of attitude-based statements in our mid-year survey for 2025. A score of 1 meant “Strongly Disagree” and a score of 5 meant “Strongly Agree.”
The statement “AI astrologers protect my privacy better than human astrologers” had an average score of 4.2, showing that people trust digital privacy.
The statement “I trust AI astrologers for quick daily or weekly guidance” got a 4.0, which shows that they are useful on a daily basis.
The score for “I still prefer human astrologers for major decisions” was 3.8, which suggests that traditional astrologers will continue to play a role, albeit in a balanced way.
“Using AI astrology feels like a safe, judgment-free experience” got a score of 4.1, which shows that emotional safety is a big reason why people keep using it.
Lastly, “I’ve spent more money on astrology since using AI-based services” got a 3.7, which shows that digital technologies are actively making astrology more popular.
Why This Matters: From Trend to Transformation
This isn’t simply a stage. Astrology is going through a big transformation, moving from being a symbolic rite to something people use every day, as we’ve seen in both 2024 and now in the first half of 2025. AI astrologers aren’t taking the place of human insight; they’re making it easier for everyone to access cosmic logic, especially when people need emotional support or a new point of view right now.

Changes in spiritual consumer behavior over time
Sidhharrth S Kumaar, Chief Astrologer of NumroVani, shared his thoughts on what this change signifies for the future of astrology after looking at the results of this mid-year study:
“We’re not just seeing a change in technology; we’re also seeing a change in our spirits.” AI astrologers are helping individuals, especially young people, connect the dots between old knowledge and life today. Our research demonstrates that people aren’t giving up on tradition; they’re making it better with solutions that protect their privacy, speed, and emotional safety. We at NumroVani think this is a sign that astrology is becoming easier to understand, more open to everyone, and a part of everyday life.
This change is not only changing how astrology is done but also who can use it and when. This is a big step toward making a generation that is more connected and conscious of itself.
The Road Ahead
As we reach the midway point of 2025, it’s evident that AI astrologers are no longer a fresh fad; they are changing the way people live. Users are looking forward to a future where cosmic advice is both old and new, with more people using it and spending more money on it.
Our annual Year-in-Astrology 2025 Report will have more information soon. Keep watching.
